“We have had revisit days since, well, forever!” Kim Major, one of the main organizers of the Admission Revisit Day, proudly noted. On Thursday, March 26th, and Tuesday, March 31st, cheers from the FAC echoed throughout George School. GS has welcomed the  newly accepted students as well as their families to campus for the Congratulations to Admitted Students (CAS) event in the past two weeks. Within the two days, accepted students and families experienced parts of GS student life through symbolic events such as all school assembly, Meeting for Worship, collection, as well as daily classes. 

The cheering of student volunteers outside the FAC set the joyful and harmonious atmosphere for the revisit days. This year, more than 100 current students, parents, and faculty members contributed to the shaping of events. While the GS community’s collective effort secured the success of the events, current students played a particularly significant role. As Kim recalled, “the enthusiasm for participating felt even higher this year. ” Student ambassadors and volunteers guided new students and families through tours, showed up to support the end-of-day gathering, and extended the warm atmosphere. One of the accepted students at the event, Jerry Han, added that lots of current students “enthusiastically” introduced themselves and George School.

Faculty members including teachers, event organizers, and our principal Justin Brandon also took part in the revisit days. Teachers demonstrated the daily classroom experiences at GS for our guests. Accepted students participated in the authentic learning environment and experienced the rigorous academics that George School provides to stimulate, train, and support students. Beside academic curriculums, accepted students visited the diverse art courses including woodworking, ceramics, dance, and audio recording. The abundant materials and facilities provided in each class visibly presented George School’s commitment to supporting students’ passions and professional pursuits. The extensive selection of courses and the well-prepared supplies are the best proof of our spirits.

The new families also embraced the close relationship between GS students and staff through norms such as calling teachers by their first names. Main event organizers, including Kim and Justin, later met with families at the end-of-day gathering, bonding with students and faculties on campus. Many students who were free during the arrangement popped out to show support and welcomed the families again. The close-knit community of GS deeply touched our guests. The family of a rising freshman appreciated the community so much that they immediately decided after the event to have their older children apply for 11th grade. At the end of the day, we hope a thorough image of the George School has been presented — a place that challenges students academically, fosters meaningful connections, and supports long-term growth.
