Last week George School had our very first Homecoming! I know many students here were excited for it, as it is a yearly tradition at most high schools. Last week was Homecoming Spirit Week. There was a fun theme planned for each day to either dress up or participate in the planned activities. The class with the most participation would earn money for their grade, helping to decrease the cost of prom tickets or other grade events.

Monday was Cougar Crazy Monday, encouraging everyone to dress in their best green and white attire. Tuesday was Teacher Tuesday, giving students the opportunity to dress as their favorite teacher, staff member, coach, etc. Wednesday was Major-League Wednesday where we dressed as our favorite athlete, scientist, actress etc. Thursday was Thank you (George School). Thursday, everyone met at red square during lunch to show our appreciation for George School. Friday we had Floatastic Friday, where everyone worked together with friends and classmates to create and decorate parade floats. Later on Friday there was a pep rally to support George School clubs and teams, including a lip sync contest. Lastly, on Saturday was the Homecoming Dance! The theme was Hollywood’s green carpet dance, students were encouraged to borrow formal wear, thrift their outfit, or make their own! There had been links left for those who are inspired to design their own eco-friendly outfit out of recyclables, and the two with the best green outfit will win prizes. This allowed for everyone to show up looking their best and truly express their creativity. I hope that Spirit Week was a fun time for everyone!
